Sedalia was home to a total of four Railroad shops over the years. 2 for the Mopac and 2 for the Katy. The shops you have the aerial picture of (which are mopacs second set of shops) still exist today. Although many of the buildings in the picture are now gone the Locomotive shops with a crane (like the one pictured suspending the locomotive taken inside the former Katy shop) is intact. The locomotive on the Fair Gounds is an old Frisco unit that never actually saw service in Pettis County, but the Mopac had several identical and some larger locomotives that were at one time or another suspended by that very crane still in the building.Jacknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5744455126996706395.post-56336009066394907332013-07-22T13:33:26.540-07:002013-07-22T13:33:26.540-07:00Are you going to create any more posts? Are you going to create any more posts?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5744455126996706395.post-89189371906792076492013-07-10T16:33:04.941-07:002013-07-10T16:33:04.941-07:00No Problem.
